Sascha’s Secret Love Letter #39

Quotes From The Heart

"I used to think I was the strangest person in the world, but then I thought, there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me."
— Frida Kahlo

‍

Kahlo said this about belonging, but read it through the lens of love, and it hits completely differently. So many women I work with carry a quiet fear that their particular combination of strength, complexity, history, and desire is somehow too much to be genuinely loved. This quote is the answer to that fear. Your specific version of "a lot" is someone else's entire wish list. You just haven't met them yet.

‍

Try this: Write down one thing about yourself you've always worried might make you "too much," then consider that it might be exactly what the right person is looking for.

A New Study Confirms What Many Women Already Feel: "Emotional Intimacy" Is the Most Searched Relationship Term of Our Time

‍

A December 2025 report analyzing the most-searched relationship terms found that emotional intimacy remains the most-searched phrase, which researchers called "proof that despite trends, the human heart craves closeness." The same report noted that shared vulnerability, not just shared quirks or interests, is what actually builds lasting intimacy. In a coaching context, this data isn't surprising. What women tell me they want most is rarely what the dating market optimizes for. They want to feel genuinely known. And that starts with being willing to be known, which is a different kind of brave than most people expect.

The Fear of Failure That Nobody Talks About

‍

You've navigated hard things before. Rooms that weren't built for you. Decisions with real consequences. Seasons that required everything you had. And you came through all of it.

‍

So why does love still feel like the highest-stakes risk of all?

‍

I think it's because everything else you've built has given you something to lose. And love, unlike a business, doesn't come with a plan or a process you can optimize. You can't out-prepare it. You can't course-correct your way to intimacy. And for someone who has been rewarded their entire life for being the most prepared person in the room, that kind of uncertainty isn't just uncomfortable. It's almost unbearable.

‍

But here's what I've come to understand: avoiding love doesn't protect you from the pain of it. It just guarantees you won't experience any of the other side either.

‍

The courage love asks for isn't the kind you've already mastered. It's quieter, more personal, and far more worth it.

‍

Try this now: Think of one moment recently where you pulled back emotionally when you could have stayed open. What were you protecting yourself from?
