Sascha’s Secret Love Letter #46

Quotes From The Heart

‍

"Loving yourself isn't vanity. It's sanity."
— Katrina Mayer

‍

Mayer is a contemporary author and motivational speaker whose work focuses on self-worth and intentional living. What I love about this one is the reframe it offers not love yourself because you're great, but love yourself because the alternative is a kind of quiet madness. Chasing validation from people who aren't offering it, shrinking to be chosen, staying where you're undervalued none of that is humble. It's just self-abandonment with better PR.

‍

Try this: Write down one way you've been treating yourself that you would never accept from a partner and decide if it's time to change it.

The Cultural Conversation About "Low-Effort" Men Has Finally Hit the Research Phase

‍

A June 2026 piece from licensed therapist Annie Wright examined what consistently shows up when high-achieving women describe the men they've dated: charm and surface-level engagement, without the willingness to show up when depth is required. Wright links this specifically to anxious-avoidant dynamics, noting that what gets mistaken for chemistry is often just the familiar tension of someone who is engaged enough to keep you interested but unavailable enough to keep things from getting real. The difference between genuine interest and validation-seeking, she argues, is almost always visible in the first few weeks. The challenge is believing what you see.

Question for you: When you look back at connections that didn't go anywhere, were the signs of low effort present early and what made you stay in the conversation anyway?

Your Body Knew Before Your Mind Did

‍

There's usually a moment, somewhere early in a relationship that isn't right, where something quietly registers. Not a red flag you can point to. Not an argument you can replay. Just a feeling. A small contraction. A moment where something doesn't quite land the way it should, and you file it away and keep going.

‍

Most of us have learned to be very good at filing things away.

‍

The mind is remarkably skilled at constructing reasons to stay: they're going through a lot, the good moments are genuinely good, nobody is perfect, maybe I'm expecting too much. And none of those thoughts are necessarily wrong. They're just not always honest.

‍

The clearest signal isn't what you think about the relationship. It's how you feel inside it, consistently, over time.

‍

Not in the peak moments. In the ordinary ones. When nothing dramatic is happening and you notice whether you feel settled or quietly unsettled.

This week's video names seven of the most common patterns worth paying attention to.

‍

Try this now: Sit quietly for two minutes and ask yourself: when I think about this relationship, does my body relax or brace?
